Background

At the start of 2006 the Vincent Owners Club commissioned the VOC Spares Company to supply a complete Series 'C' Black Shadow. This had to be built 100% from VOC Spares Co parts and was intended to be a one off build to demonstrate both the achievement of total parts availability and the quality of the components now being manufactured by them.

Glyn Johnson, a VOC member for over thirty years, was selected to hand assemble this prestigious machine due to his high standard of Vincent restorations generally and in particular his work on several Vincent motorcycles for the National Motorcycle Museum.

His Vincent restorations have won the most prestigious awards, including Stafford Classic Bike Show overall show winner (Grey Flash), Stafford Classic Mechanics Show Best British Bike (Black Shadow), VOC Annual Concourse and many others.

The VOC project motorcycle has inevitably already generated interest from people who have seen the bike, asking if this process could be repeated. Now, after much consideration into the feasibility of this, The Vincent Workshop has been formed by Glyn Johnson to undertake the bespoke assembly of either a new Black Shadow or Rapide motorcycle to order.

In addition to assembling new motorcycles, The Vincent Workshop can also undertake the full restoration of an original machine, to the same high standards, using only quality parts.
